Main Leaders: Simon & Helen Moores

Simon first came to Swansea in October 2003, to study at the Bible College of Wales in Derwen Fawr. He was responding to a clear call on his life after dramatically finding faith in Christ on Easter Sunday 2000. He studied Practical Theology for two years whilst also serving in several children’s and youth groups around the city, as well as starting a part time garden maintenance business to help pay his fees. After studying he was employed on the staff at the college as the Youth and Community Outreach Worker. As a student Simon met Helen at Spring Terrace Church youth group in 2004 when he came to help; they went on to get married in September 2006. Simon went on to complete a BA Hons degree in Youth and Community Studies at Newport University finishing in 2009. Simon’s heart is to reach people of all ages with good news about Jesus Christ and to pass these wonderful truths from the Bible onto the next generation. He is passionate to see people’s faith come to life and grow in their love for God, flowing out into relationships both within the church and outside. Simon and Helen love to see people being released into the lives that God has intended for them, and look to help people of all ages discover the path the Lord wishes to take them down.
“Loving God, Loving People and Living Life to the Max”.
Simon and Helen served in Spring Terrace Youth Group for a number of years and after their marriage, they were set in as deacons in the leadership team before eventually being elected to become the joint Leaders on August 7th 2010. Since October 2012 till October 2015 Simon and Helen have served as Co-ordinators for Swansea Street Pastors desiring to show God’s love in a practical way to the revellers in Swansea City Centre, that they might see the light of Christ in those who serve in this ministry. They continue serving on a Street Pastor team once a month in the City Centre. As with all their work for the Lord Simon and Helen aim to live incarnationally and hope for the day that community of Sandfields and beyond will find faith in the risen Saviour.
John 1:14 “The Word became a human and lived among us. We saw his glory—the glory that belongs to the only Son of the Father—and he was full of grace and truth”
Helen has lived in Swansea all her life. She was born into a christian home and was educated in her early years at Emmanuel Preparatory school based at the Bible College of Wales. She grew up knowing many stories of the Bible and with many christian friends of her own age. However, it wasn’t until she was 16 that she called on God and experienced Him in a dramatic, powerful and life changing way. Soon after coming to faith, she got baptised and developed a great desire to spend time praying and getting to know Jesus through reading the Bible. At the age of 18 she was baptised in the Holy Spirit which took her faith to a whole new exciting level! She has been on missions trips to Cambodia, Ecuador, Brazil and since getting married, to Zambia. All of the trips gave her life focus and a heart for the lost, broken and needy.
In October 2001, Helen and her family joined Spring Terrace Church with the vision to serve God in whatever way He led. The church had a thriving children’s work, but after the age of 11 there was nothing for the children to go on to. God gave Helen a vision to set up a youth work to continue teaching the young people about the love of Jesus. God spoke clearly to Helen through Isaiah 61 v 1 ‘the Spirit of the sovereign Lord is upon me ….’ As well as setting up a youth group, Helen also shared with the elders of the church the passion she had for taking young people on mission trips abroad. In August 2012, Helen and Simon saw this dream come true through the new leaders of TRIBE youth group. It may have taken 11 years to get there but what has started now they believe will continue.

GRAHAM AND GAIL RICHARDSON - Core Leaders
Graham and Gail came to live in Swansea in August 2015, although for Gail, this was merely a return to her roots,as her first 18 years were spent growing up in this wonderful city. Graham is a Hertfordshire boy, lifelong Luton Town supporter and now a Swans fan as well! Both were teachers in England and leaders in Hemel Hempstead Community Church; Graham was a Community Pastor and Police Chaplain (after finishing teaching) and very much involved with local government. They moved to Swansea after “retiring” from full time work but soon realised that the Lord had further adventures for them. They bring a wealth of experience with them, a desire to build the Kingdom area wide and a commitment to see people grow in God in the local church.
